Now based in Philadelphia PA after almost 20 years in Washington Dc, Scott is known as a sound designer, composer, and performer. He has composed scores and created sound designs for independent films, documentaries, corporate promotional and educational videos, public service announcements and close to 200 theatrical productions from NYC to Florida.
For the past five years, his professional focus has been on live engineering and systems design at Swarthmore College's Lang Performing Arts Center where he serves as Head of the Audiovisual Department.
From 2005 to 2009, he held the position of Head Engineer and Sound Designer at GVI, a local video production company whose work has won many local video and broadcast awards. Scott also served as the Audiovisual Systems Designer for the Atlas Performing Arts Center in Washington DC, where he maintained the position of Head of the Audiovisual Department for its first three years of operation.
While pursuing work in film and video, he has also continued to develop his musical and theatrical performance skills appearing in several professional productions in the DC area. From 2008 to 2010, Scott served as Creative Director of Spotlight Productions (DC), and with that company produced and performed in a live variety show called VoixDeVille.
He has been nominated for the Helen Hayes Award ten times and has received the award twice; he has been nominated for Florida’s Carbonell Award, the DC Mayor’s Arts Award, and received the Source Award for creative design.
